WordPress – the popular free blog & CMS platform – is used by 60 million people globally to power everything from blogs (including this one!) to corporate websites and socal networks. Today it has been updated to version 3.3, and is available to download now.
As well as numerous bug fixes and security updates this new version also brings some nice new features and interface changes, such as a new toolbar, easier to use media uploader and quicker pull-out menus.
We strongly encourge anyone running WordPress to keep their installation up to date (including plugins) in order to keep your blog/site secure (not to mention fix bugs).
Upgrading is usually a painless process, just make sure you backup your files AND database before starting. For detail upgrade instructions visit the Updating WordPress page on the WordPress codex.

We haveĀ launchedĀ a new Support Centre to allow us to provide even better support to our customers, as well as giving each customer a complete archive of their own past support tickets.
To raise a support ticket just visit www.anvilhosting.co.uk/support_centre and select to open a new ticket. By entering your Email Address and Ticket ID you can view the status of your tickets, view any replies from the Anvil Hosting support team and add additional information to your query.
You can still email support as normal (support@anvilhosting.co.uk) and request support from within your cPanel interface, where you will be automatically assigned a support ticket.

From our experience free web hosting services are missing many features that you might require, and the solutions that University’s provide do not cut the mustard or are not available outside campus.
